Why CSG?

There are a few different secondary glazing solutions on the market. This is how the CSG system compares to some alternatives.

The CSG System

CSG is the premium secondary glazing solution for listed and heritage homes. It delivers high performance while remaining virtually invisible, and draught-proofs the entire window — something plastic push-fit panels cannot achieve. Installed onto the staff bead, CSG also allows traditional shutters to operate normally.

Push Fit Plastic Panels

Plastic push fit panels offer a simple form of secondary glazing. However, the panels sit within each individual pane so does not draught proof the entire window, draughts and air leakage around the frame is typically one of the biggest issues in heritage homes. Their appearance can also be more noticeable than CSG, as they can make the astragals appear wider.

Traditional Framed Secondary Glazing

Traditional secondary glazing can deliver good thermal performance, but the larger internal frame can be visually intrusive in period properties. For listed and heritage homes, it can obscure the original window, interfere with traditional shutters and detract from the character of the room – meaning planning permission for heritage homes is unlikely.
